Spanish Club learns ol culture and tradition Members of the Spanish Club have the opportunity not only to enrich their study of the Spanish language, but also to explore the customs and traditions of Spain. The Christmas season found members wearing blindfolds and swinging a big stick at a goodie-filled donkey known as a pinata. After many wild swings of the stick and several near misses, someone finally delivers the strike that causes the pinata to break open and spill its contents onto the floor below. Students spill out onto the floor almost as quickly as the candy does trying to grab a handful of the loot for themselves. Being able to see an authentic Spanish dance was the reward of those club members who went to a theater in indianapolis. A trip to Decatur enabled members to watch a play that was performed first in Spanish, then in English. The club is proud to have Mrs. Linda Albert as their sponsor. A. During the fall student council members were busy preparing for the homecoming festivities and dance. The dreary days of winter were brightened a bit by the live, decorated Christmas tree the council purchased and decorated. Council members also helped conduct a survey to find out what students want from the cafeteria. During spring the hearts of both young men and young women turn to thoughts of each other. To help direct these thoughts along the right pathways the student coun- cil helped to conduct a computer dating service. Ap- plicants filled out a questionnaire which was sent to a computer firm. A few days later each applicant was given a print-out of several matches The results proved to be quite interesting and at times embarrassing. A.
