The theme of our Junior-Senior Prom was Drifting and Dreaming. It was not only the first time for a buffet-style dinner, but also the first time that the boys' gymnasium was used for the Prom. Our sophomore class officers were Jim Reynolds, presidentg Carole Maurer, vice-president, Betty Schafer, secretary, and Jim Brown, treasurer. Representing us on Student Council were Linda Hunt and Jim Mitchell. Our Homecoming Attendant was Diane Siverly, and Linda Hunt was chosen as Sweetheart Dance Attendant. Our football cheerleaders were Carole Maurer and Gloria Simpson, It was a great year for us silly sophomores! In the fall of 1959 we green freshmen entered the halls of Marshall High School, tuiaware of what the next four years would hold in store for us, Our class officers were Larry Macke, presi- dent, Troy Harmon, vice-presidentg Judi Miller, secretaryg and Kathy Coldren, treasurer. The Student Council sponsored the Home coming Dance, conducted the cheerleading elections, decorated the high school at Christmas, was in charge of making a donation to the Carl Sandburg Foundation from the elementary and senior high schools, and conducted other projects for the good of the school and community, One main project this year was conducting an exchange student program with Sight other schools in this area. Marshall High students visited other schools for a day while other students visited Marshall High.
