WILLIAM L. LENKER Les Cpicture not availablej Senior Class History On August 26, 1958, we began our high school career. We, the green mighty freshmen, were ready to add a little excitement to the school. Our freshman officers were John Macke, president, Janice Smit- ICY, vice-president: Elaine GOCRICF. SCCFCIHFY: and Gary Miller, treasurer. Nancy Young and Bill Tavlor were selected to represent us on Student Council. Our Homecoming attendant was Janice Smitley. Carole Smitley was elected Sweetheart Dance attendant. I In the fall of 1959 we entered high school as silly sophomores. We elected John Macke as our class president, Kenny Smith, vice-president, Marie Johnson, secretary, and Karen Kannmacher, treasurer. Our representatives to Student Council were Rosalyn Jackson and Scott Strohm. Our Homecoming attendant was Terry Turner. Terry was also Sweetheart Dance attendant. We had five girls who were elected cheerleaders that year. Carole Cork, Terry Turner, and Nancy Young were football cheerleaders. Marty Rose and Carole Smitley were basketball cheerleaders. At last in 1960 we obtained the title of upperclassmen as we started our junior year. Kenny Smith was elected president of our class, Gary Miller, vice-president, Pam Abel, secretary, and Nancy Young, treas- urer. Our four Student Council members were Rosalyn Jackson, Marty Rose, Mike Lowry, and John Macke. Suzanne Sokovich attended the Homecoming Queen. John Macke escorted and crowned the queen. In the queen's court at the Christmas Dance, Pam Abel, Marty Rose, and Nancy Young were attendants. Harold Anacher, Fred Downs, Kenny Smith, and Scott Strohm were escorts. Terry Turner was attendant for the Sweetheart Dance, and escorts were John Macke, Mike Lowry, and Don Davidson. We again had five mem- bers of our class elected as cheerleaders. They were Dorothy Poorman, football cheerleader, Carole Cork, Elaine Goekler, Terry Turner, and Nancy Young, basketball cheerleaders. Marty Rose was chosen to at- tend Girls' State. The junior class play was entitled A Doubled Barrelled Detective Story. The main event on which we juniors worked hard was the Junior-Senior prom and banquet, Under the Magnolias. Our final great year arrived. We, the Seniors, were known as Big Wheels. Our class officers were Gary Miller, president, Kenny Smith, vice-president, Pam Abel, secretary, and Naomi Yeley, treasurer. Our representatives for Student Council were Rosalyn Jackson, Nancy Young, John Macke, and Ron Buckner. The reigning queens were Elaine Goekler, Homecoming Queen, Cindy Clark, Christmas Dance Queen, and Judie Kile, Sweetheart Dance Queen. Janice Smitley was senior attendant for Homecoming Queen. Cheryl Thompson and Marty Rose were Christmas Dance attendants. Scott Strohm was Christmas Dance King, and Kenny Smith, Harold Anacher, Fred Downs, and John Macke were escorts. Sweetheart Dance attendants were Terry Turner, Suzanne Sokovich, and Janice Smitley. Mike Lowry escorted and crowned the Sweet- heart Dance Queen. Other escorts were Don Davidson, Dave Bell, Steve Eitel, and John Macke. Judie Kile was a football cheerleader. Carole Cork, Elaine Goekler, Terry Turner, and Nancy Young were basketball cheerleaders. The year was filled with activities such as magazine sales, name cards, invitations, scholar- ship tests, and just plain good fun. Two of our most memorable events were the prom and graduation. A feeling of both excitement and sadness filled the air as graduation neared. The memories of our high school years will never leave us. We hope that your years in high school will be as rewarding as ours have been! Nancy Young and Elaine Goekler Class fjQC6T-9 W5 ZZMW, .
