A. H. BUEKER SUPERINTENDENT Merrel Peace, secretary to the superintendent, has shown her capability by doing an excellent job of taking care of the bookkeeping for the school sys- tem of Marshall. In addition, she is in charge of the correspondence of the superintendent, teacher re- cords, and this year the ordering of films. 9 MERREL PEACE SECRETARY 3' up ' Mr. Bueker came to us from Jefferson City where he held the position of Assistant Dean of the Junior College. He is a gradu- ate of Warrensburg State College and the University of Missouri and has done gradu- ate work in the University of Chicago, in the University of California and in the Teachers College at Columbia University. He first held the position of principal here in the Marshall High School: then upon the appointment of Hubert Wheeler to the office of State Commissioner of Education, Mr. Bueker became our superintendent, a position which he has filled admirably. He has a personality that exacts cooperation and he does receive it from both the stu- dents and teachers. iii' 40 X HN.

DURRETT PRINCIPAL Mr. Durrett, a graduate of Marshall High School, Missouri Valley College and the University of Missouri, came to us this year from the Veterans Division of the State Department of Education. Previously he had served as high school principal at Lex- ington for eighteen years and one year as Admissions Counsellor at Missouri Valley College. Sincerity and boundless energy characterizes the work of Mr. Durrett as he lends a guiding hand to those who need it.
