Since that time it has changed management to the Sisters of Mercy. At present it has an enrollment of about one hundred and fifty stu- dents, which includes pupils of all twelve grades. The courses offered are commer- cial, academic, music and ex- pression. Below is pictured the MISSOURI STATE SCHOOL for the Epileptics and Feeble-minded. The institution cares for over 700 patients at present and renders a great service to the public Welfare of the state The site occupies a tract of 288 acres. This plant was dismantled in 1924, and during the same year the VVater Gas Plant was put into service. This new plant has a capacity of making gas at the rate of 18,000 cubic feet per hour. It has the storage capacity of 135,000 cubic feet. Marshall has 12 miles of gas main and 800 consumers. I THE SHOE FACTGRY. A branch of the International Shoe Company, located here in Marshall, is a Very valuable asset to the town. The factory has about nine hundred and fifty employees, with a yearly payroll of seven hundred and fifty thousand dollars. It has a maximum capacity of fourteen thousand shoes daily. ' The factory has brought many new residents to Marshall and has contrib- uted to the enlargement of our town.
