Mr. Frederick Hawke Department Head MATHEMATICS Striving to retain and expand upon the modern topics covered in Math VIII. the Algebra I students this year used an exciting new text, A'IOKf1'7'7I Algebra, by Dolciani. The new Algebra I course Covered the traditional topics using the modern niatlieinatieal lan- guage. The course presented the old and the new content of Algebra I in the best prevailing educational thought. Students gained a better understanding of the basic concepts and at the same tiiue retained the required iuanipulative proficiency obtained under the traditional syllabus.
