PHYSICAL EDUCATION Our concern as physical educators is to stimulate growth through the over-all development of our students. Mr. Frederick Hawke Department Head MATHEMATICS Striving to retain and expand upon the modern topics covered in Math VIII. the Algebra I students this year used an exciting new text, A'IOKf1'7'7I Algebra, by Dolciani. The new Algebra I course Covered the traditional topics using the modern niatlieinatieal lan- guage. The course presented the old and the new content of Algebra I in the best prevailing educational thought. Students gained a better understanding of the basic concepts and at the same tiiue retained the required iuanipulative proficiency obtained under the traditional syllabus. Students and teachers enjoyed the challenge presented by the new Algebra I course.
