MR, WILBUR DUNN Head MR. ALBERT I. ALMANSBERGER MR. WILLIAM GRAF hysical Education Physical Education is slowly adheringto visions of new philosophies and objectives with a Leader Corps being the nucleus and dynamo of a new era in achieving a sound healthy body and proper attitudes toward whole- some activities ancl fine standards of social behavior. The present day situation emphasizes physical Htness more fashionably than ever and we on the Health Education staff are constantly striving to in- tegrate the new with the old keeping in mind that mental improvement goes hand in hand with better physical condition. Our young folks at Marshall this year have been doing a sterling job in building Esprit de Corps and learning to be strong in sacrificial quality, in courage, and in loyalty so that Marshall may reflect its true colors as socially efficient citizens of our democratic society. It is with pride that the Health Education staff serves the students of Iohn Marshall and hopes sincerely that every girl and boy has profited in the per- fection of the individual in relation to himself, to nature, to society, and to a philosophy of life. MR. GEORGE SWANSON Head Practical Arts The Practical Arts Department provides instruction for pupils interested in drafting, metal working, wood working, ceramics, plastics, electronics, printing, and photography. These opportunities enable pupils to get first hand knowledge of industrial skills, shop management, safe working pro- cedures, working together as a group, solving mechanical problems, good industrial work habits, respect for power machines, and shop maintenance. Drafting students were taught the skills of blue print reading, construction of working drawings, and related shop information. All students learned some practical applications of mathematics and science, the degree of quality and quantity demanded of industry, and respect for each other's privileges and responsibilities. All of these items can be carried over into later life and be of invaluable service to a young person upon leaving high school. MR. MARINUS I-IEUSEVELDT MR. ROYAL HILL MR. LEE F. PI-IELAN MR.
