She later attended the Uni-,fri Cc, LK versity of Michigan where she received L - her master of arts degree in 1950. nf . . Ogre, In her sixteen years of service to our tl -flip school, she has become one of Mar- W sha1l's favorite teachers. Over 2,000 7, , students have enjoyed her English Uif 4' classes because her knowledge is taught L7 so expertly and her smiling face and witty comments are ever present. A true friend, she would help anyone at -X . . . ,C any time and her advice IS often sought. Miss Merritt is the active sponsor of the Usher Club and of the National if 9 Honor Society. She has sponsored many X V classes in the past and this year we of the senior class were fortunate to have her as one of our sponsors. MM , , BOARD OF EDUCATION The live members of the Board of Education are chosen by the people of Marshall to establish the policies concerning the best possible education for the local students. The members must be responsible and respected citizens of the community and have knowledge as to what is best for our school. The term of office is a period of three years and the members may be elected again. These capable people have been most successful in maintaining the high standing our school has attained. BRUCE A. GRAY E- G- ROSE Superintendent Principal Mr. Gray has held several positions, varying from coach to his present position as super- intendent of the Marshall Pub- lic Schools. Never slighting his duties, he has been busy keep- ing ahead of what was expected of him, and he did a great deal to help secure our new-build- ings program. As the principal of Marshall High School, Mr. Rose is con- stantly busy using his better judgement at conferences, meet- ings, and on the telephone. Our Well-liked principal keeps in constant touch with all of the various organizations and the student body as well.
