Of Thee We Sing ........ . Since Mr. Chadderdon came to Marshall High School nine years ago to take over as director of the Instrumental Music Department, the standards ot performance have developed to a very high level. The marching band in the tall, the orchestra at the class plays, and the concerts given each year are evidence of this tact. The department also ranks high in the competition ot state festivals. To achieve this, a development of groups below high school level is necessary. Besides the Junior Band at Central, Mr. Chadder- don has started beginning wind and string classes at Gordon, Pierce, and Sherman. There is another side ofthe story that tevv people see. Our busy director maintains the principle that the development of the individual is more important than the advancement ot the organization. Although few others realize it, many students have been helped to make adiustments and so were better prepared to face lite. We salute Mr. Chadderdon for service to his school, his community, and to the students who have had the advantage of working with him.
