The industrial arts department is under the able direction ot Mr. George Carlson, Mr, l-larold Meix- ner, and Mr, Karl Patrick. The printing shop per- forms an indispensable service by printing various notices and announcements. Mr. Clittord l-lume and Mr. Cecil O'l3rien com- pose the commercial statt. Mr. l-lume is new this year at Marshall, but has already earned a place tor himselt by his genial good-nature. Mr. O'Brien doubles as head baseball and hockey coach. Mrs. Carol Engene directs the home economics department. Under her skilltul management, we learn the finer points ot homemaking, It is here that many a girl tinds her future vocation, The physical education department is composed ot Mr. Dean Shawbold, Miss Katherine Irvine, Miss Emma Stevning, and Mr. l-lugo Fischer. Mr. Shaw- bold is also tennis, gymnastics, and swimming coach, Mr. Fischer is wrestling mentor, and Miss Stevning coaches girl's golt: Miss lrvine and Miss Qtevningfregulate the activities ot GAA, , ff . g- , ci., N-4 0:4 etc Q-is --f 244' ln the two bottom pictures are the building en- gineers and lunch room statti Their invaluable as- sistance makes our school run smoothly. ,im .Au-10, i l I i The English staff this year consists of Miss Helen Chapman, Miss l-lilma Skalbeclc, Mrs. Francis An- derson, Mr. Arthur Ballet, Mr. Richard Olsen, and Miss Verna Neprude. Miss Chapman and Mr. Ol- sen are faculty advisors forthe Judge and Cardi- nal respectively. Miss lzora Bement, Mr. Oliver Seyerson, Miss Ann Dahl, Miss Mable Vincent, and Mrs. Ann Cap- stick staff the common learnings department. The mathematics department under the direction of Miss Rose Liedl, Mr. Lucas Satter, Miss Mary VValsh, and Mrs. Elizabeth Powell plays an import- ant part in our scholastic program. l A Miss Mildred Trumble, Miss Florence Turnquist, Mrs Loyd Jerdee, and Mr. Lester Mikelson staff the science department. Under their able direction, we become little Einsteins . The social studies department is composed of Mr. Erling Lien, Mrs. Carmellita Waddell, Mr. How- ard Straiton, and Mrs. Laura Montank. The music staff consisting of Mr. Lynn Roam, Miss Mabel Vincent, and Mr. Percy Burningham have again done their part in adding to the most en- ioyable aspects of school. This year the band, un- der Mr. Room, sold magazine subscriptions to fi- nance new uniforms. Under the direction of Miss Olga Steyning and Miss Irene Roskilly, Marshall art students turn out g prize-winning posters, sketches, and carvings. Miss Madeline Simonet and Mrs, l-larriet Kane teach us the fundamentals of Latin, Spanish, and Cverman. .1 syiusrics W1 uw
