As you know, Martha is now being rated among the great. I see Barbara Center making her way through the crowd. It seems she's still pursuing the finer things of life -- men. The room's in an uproar, as Joseph Frye, accompanied by his assistant, Bobby Ratcliffe and private nurse, Joy Osburn, arrives. You've been hearing lots about their space ship journey to Mars. It was fi- nanced by Mary Sue Weaver, who made her fortune with her uke . I thinkl see Mary Sue now. Someone has just informed me that Doshia West sent word that she would be unable to attend the banquet. On her last trip to Reno she just decided to stay. Oh, there are Margaret Ledford and Janie Wiles. You've read of their poi- neer struggles in their fight for recognition of man's equality with woman. Here is the fashion expert, Rheta Sharp. Betty Jean own a Fleet of taxi cabs now and Mary Ann and Betty Jo have a charming teashop. Say, there's the new rage in soap operas, Violet Liggett. You have all heard her new program Why Bertha Left Horne , written and directed by Nancy Chapman. What's this? She's clothed in Furs and diamonds ! ! ! Hey! She just knocked over a table! Why, of course, it's Ophelia Scott. Hello, Ophelia! Oh, there's Jean Gold! She must have just arrived back in the States. You've heard about her being a transport pilot? She works for a company that flies kangaroos from Australia to the United States. I see Betty Lasater talking earnestly to Joyce Shepard, who writes the love- lorn column in the New York Times. After six happy marriages Betty is plann- ing a trip to Paris to mend a broken heart. I see Dorothy Edwards giving her latest recipe to Mary Ann Carroll. Dot appears each Saturday morning on the Pet Milk Show. Larry Ezell, the headwaiter, once again scores a hit with this perfect ban- quet. You should have seen the proud look on Billy Wheat's face as he watched Anita join her old pals, Marie Sisco, Frances Steele and Laquita Wilkerson, in the chorus line. A fitting finale is the music of Hot Lips Sanders and his orchestra which features Glendol Andrews as soloist. The crowd is leaving, lost in the memories of by-gone days. The alumni banquet of the '52 class has been a great success. Best wishes from Kerley Furniture Co.
