He teaches several classes of American government and aids Debate and Decla- mation students in their many and varied activities. He is the student counselor and a senior class advisor. He can be seen distributing ACT test results to junior and senior class participants, laughing with a student over a clever joke, or manuvering school bus number eight over the country roads between Lava and Marsh Valley. We owe many thanks to Mr. Lowe for the time and energy he spends throughout the yearfto make the school abetter place. For these reasons we are proud to ded- icate the 1968-1969 MARSHOPOLITAN to him. ...nl :X N, ..-v ,f V ,Q .,,... f fvf2f:M,.2?5N':m,f .... ,ff W indent Body Offieere President fin! M. l6'reufn I have really enjoyed being Student Body President at Marsh Valley. This has truly been a great year for me, l would like to thank everyone for the support they have given me. One very important thing to me is that I was able to meet so many people. l was really surprised at how many people at Marsh Valley l didn't know. l want to encourage everyone to keep their grades as high as possible. l am now just realizing how foolish l was for not studying harder, When l was a freshmen l thought my Senior year would never come. Now that I am a Senior, l look back and try to figure out where all the time has gone. l also want to encourage everyone to participate in school functions. Thanks again for everything. Md and Manic Hague Vice-Presideuf l've enjoyed going to Marsh Valley for three years, and especially this last year, being able to serve on the Student Council as Student Body Vice- President, I'm thankful for the support that you, ofthe Student Body have given me and for the chance to work with them and for them. fm ffm Davis Secretary I enjoyed serving as Secretary very much. l would like to thank you for your enthusi- astic support of school activities which contributed so much toward the success of this year. In Memory of 6hcry!,41414 ffvufcll Near shady wall a rose once grew, Budded and blossomed in God's free light, Watered and fed by morning dew, Shedding its sweetness day and night. As it grew and blossomed, fair and tall, Slowly rising to loftier height, lt came to a crevice in the wall, Through which there shone a beam of light, Onward it crept with added strength, With never a thought of fear and pride , lt followed the light through the crevice's length And unfolded itself on the other sideg The light, the dew, the broadening view, Where found the same as they were before And it lost itself in beauties new, Breathing its fragrance more and more. Shall claim of death cause us to grieve And make our courage faint or fall? Nay, let us faith and hope receiveg The rose still grows beyond the wall, Scattering fragrance far and wide, Just as it did in days of yore, Just as it did on the other side, Just as it will forever more, A, L.
