T B YOUTH LEGISLATORS The Youth Legislators that attended the sessions in Boise this year were: Bob Stoddard, Mike Jacobson, Kevin Koester, and Nancy Hadley. Each year delegates are chosen to go to Boise in April to present a bill and learn the functions of our government. The advisor of this group is Mr. Lowe. GIRL AND BOY STATERS kr' The Girl and Boy Staters are selected by the American Legion and Auxiliary. Those chosen were: SEA TED Brenda Bloxham, Dee Ann Gibbs, Reo Criddle, and Brenda Richards. STANDING: Terry Jensen, Larry Jones, Morgan Evans, Gary Yearsley, and Terry Morrison.

Members of the Chess Club include, SEATED: Brian Richardson, and Jay Richardson. STANDING: Val Anderson DeWayne Lazenby, Norman Rhodehouse, and Scott Sexton. Another member is Emory Christensen. Officers and Advisor of the Chess Club were: Val Anderson, Vice-Pres.: Scott Sexton, Presidentg Mr. Hanson, Advisory and Emory Christensen, Secretary. H2 CHESS ClUB The Chess Club was organized this year for the first time in the history of Marsh Valley. A The purpose of the club was to teach the members who were new at the game the fundamentals and techniques of Chessg and to help members who had competed in the game before develop new skills. This club will be part of the school in the years to corne and will join the others in the functions of Marsh Valley.

The mad scramble at the candy stand, the horror of books flying at a stacked locker, the busy chatter at the lunch table, the rushing of students at the sound of a bell, and friends talking, laughing and teasing urea sample of the activities of students between classes in the halls of Marsh Valley. The relaxing moments of the students are filled with the fun of iust being with others. Classes, dates, sports, and clothes are topics which seem to be discussed in every crowd stationed throughout the school. From the warmth of the heater in the winter to sitting on the grass in the spring, students cluster together to share their thoughts and ideas, which help them to progress farther along the pathway to success through . .
