The coach made up for the lack of experience with good basketball know-how, a little luck, and lots of work. What could, have been a very poor year was really quite the opposite as the Eagles won second in the district and went on to the State Tournament for first time in the school's history.

This team consisted of practically the same group of boys that finished the 1964-65 season as freshmen. It was a great pleasure to coach and associate with these young men this year, and I am sure that many of them will see a great deal of action when playing varsity basketball for Marsh Valley High School.
