PRINCIPAL ADMINISTRATION WAYNE NIEISEN Fortunate is our school for having an administrator who is a friend of all the students, and who becomes acquainted with each one, personally. During Principal Nielsen's eight years of service, the students have found him to be a tactful person, sound in judgment. No matter how busy he is, he always finds the time to4cQme and support the activities sponsored by our high school. We highly commend him, after twelve years of service, for his work and willingness to serve the citizens and students of Marsh Valley. The responsibility is a heavy one, but the satisfaction gained is a great reward.

BOARD OF EDUCATION L TO R: Leavitt Taylor - 7 yearsg Bert Eliason - 2 years, Reed Cammack - 8 years, Daniel Shaffer - ll years, Superintendent Andrew Johnson - 12 years, Jack Stoddard - 6 years. Five leading citizens and our superintendent comprise the Board of Education. Our school district is most fortunate to have these capable directors. Among their many responsibilities they set the policies of the school, hire teachers, secretaries, and custodiansg purchase books and equip- mentg oversee the care of school property, and secure finances for operating the school. Despite any problems that may arise, the members work together for the welfare of the students, teachers and taxpayers of the district. 1 After returning from a trip behind the Iron Curtain, Leavitt Taylor, Reed Camrnack, Mrs. Rose Johnson, and Andrew Johnson find their belief in our American heritage intensified. A rare honor came to Superintendent Andrew H. Johnson this year. He was selected to accompany 133 other educators from the United States and Canada on a tour of Eastern Europe and including Russia. His wife, Rose and trustees Leavitt Taylor and Reed Cammack accompanied him. Eighteen days were spent behind the iron curtain. According to Superin- tendent Johnson, all people who live on this side of the iron curtain should thank God every day of their lives that they do not live under Communism.
