Around the World in Eighty Days was the theme ofthe i957 Homecom- ing at Marseilles High School. Each float depicted a certain country. The Senior Class float represented England with the theme Marseilles Reigns Supreme. The first place float, decorated by the Freshman Class, represent- ed Mt. Vesuvius in Italy with the theme We'll Erupt on Plainfield. The F. H. A. and F. E. A. float won second place with the theme We Can-Can Plainfield symbolizing France. The third place float, sponsored by the Student Council, represented the United States and the struggle of our fore- fathers with the theme Clearing the Way to Victory. To make the cele- bration complete, the Panthers won the Homecoming Game. FRESHMAN FIRST PLACE FLOAT 43 Sh wer of Stars ber 14, 1957 R00 FOR O E ORE Mrs. Rose . . . . Jan Sulser Jimmy John . .... Donna Cosmutto Boy s Hu-flv Room For One More was presented by the Senior Class on Friday night, November l5, 1957. No matter how hard it was to make ends meet, Poppy and Mother Rose could never say no to a homeless child. But Janey, their latest uest, was somewhat of a problem. She didn't know how to belong, but she ends up a memclaer of the Rose family on the decision of the rest of the children. Jimmy John--another unfortunate--was not only aproblem, but wore braces on his legs. Mother's heart went out to the boy, and before they knew it, Jimmy John was added to the ever-growing family. Then tragedy struck into this happy family. Poppy died. Mother's real and adopted family struggled to keep the Pumpkin Shell out of the red. Jimmy John, fearing that he had caused the crisis with his operations, ran away. But the rest of the children found him and brought him back. The play ended happily with Mother's announcement of a movie contract for Jimmy John's story. Miss Nancy Norling directed the play with the assistance of Dorothy Kilgore, the student director. 45 Most T3lk3tlVC uletest John Sweeden and Donna Trad Don Hall and Donna Youmons Most Popular Most Llkely to Succeed Dick Hardin ond Pct Cooper Class Comedlans Joe DeSllvestro ond Delores Armstrong Most Athletlc Dale Le Rette and Carol Simpson 46 Lois Story ond Robert Cobler .
