lt's your ball, Smith! The fast-moving 1958 boys' team, led by several hustling seniors, left in its wake a record of eight wins and eleven losses. Beginning the season with a bang, the Wildcats bowed to tough opposition inthe middle of the season, but wenton to finish in fine style. The return of Howell Smith, who had been out with a football iniury, gave the team courage. Otheroutstanding players were seniors Sam Vance, David Bradley, and Wayne Roberts, as well as juniors Jackie Whitt and Jackie Keith. In the county tournament, our team played well, but was defeated in close games by the refreshed Marshall and Walnut teams to finish in third place. Two leading players, Howell Smith and Jackie Whitt, were named to the All- Tourney team. Thefine performance of underclassmen on this year's team gives Mars Hill fans good hope that future teams will be of high qualify. Ofvr' oz' .41 l 1 Right.
