OUR MINING TOWN MARS HILL HIGH SCHOOL MARS HILL COLLEGE BETTY B CLARK Edntor In Chief CAROL KENDALL Assistant Editor PATRICIA ROBINSON Busmess Manager Illildcai FURHUURD As early prospectors searched for gold and grew rich upon finding it, so we, the students of Mars Hill High School, seek the same rich vein of knowledge which can easily be obtained by our efforts to learn, and we find great riches in our possession of learning. At the same time that we secure the gold of knowledge, we also mine the silver ore of participation in school organizations and athletics. In each of the phases of school life in which we participate, we find our own lives enriched by our share of the fine ore of wisdom which contributes to a balanced life. Just as miners used their mines wisely, we should show our appreciation of our centers of learning by wise, careful utilization of the time spent in these centers. This annual, the assay report of our school's gold, shows our ore to be of very high value. As you, the students, browse through this yearbook, we who have com- piled it hope that it will serve as a lasting reminder of our school's contribution to our wealth of learning.
