Dr. Chap- inan is a civic and church lead- er and has published several pa- pt-rs on general and thoracic surgery. He is a foreign volunteer now studying at Southeastern Semi- nary in XVake Forest. The only woman on the Fo- cus Week teain is Mrs. Cathar- ing Bahner. who tc-aches seventh grade English, is a hoard mem- ber for Carver School. South- western, and New Orleans sem- inaries. She works extensively in summer camps and with col- lege students. Mr. Charles Bryan, a Texan, is the Southern Baptist field representative for the Bahamas, Venezuela, Colom- bia, Ecuador, and Peru. 'Yo vp the audi- torium was beyond control, they concentrated their efforts in pre- venting the fire from spreading to adjacent buildings. The fire totally destroyed the fifty-five year old building, caus- ing an estimated loss of 361000. Included in the estimate were three pianos and movie projection equipment. At approximately 10:15 p.m., fire was discovered in the base- ment of Spilman dormitory for boys, located across the street from the auditorium.
