The most evident accomplishment of Dr. Blackwell's administration may be observed in the transformation of the campus - seven state- ly buildings erected, older buildings renovated. equipment modernized, the boundaries of the campus extended, the spacious grounds landscap- ed and beautified. . . . a student at Mars Hill College TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE . a bit of his philosophy Less apparent have been his achievements in the internal development of the college - the expanded curriculum, the strengthened faculty and staff, the added facilities, and the increased endowment and resources. More lasting than the physical increment and more significant than fiscal stability are the preservation and the extension of the spiritual heritage of the college - maintenance of thor- ough scholarship and high moral standards, pro- motion of wholesome and edifying campus life, emphasis on Christian verities in ideals and action. In these attainments Dr. Blackwell has led the way. The strength and luster of his character - his integrity, his industry, his faith - are a priceless asset to the college, and of such is the glory of Mars Hill.
