Constantly striving for excellence in all of their duties, many have seen the transformation of Nfars Hill College. founded in 1856. amid scattered buildings over a small area, to an institution that has reached a student body enrollment of over a thousand. Although the name of Mars Hill College is spread by its students as they go to their life's work in the world, many of the honors they may attain can be traced to thc influence of the christian men and women who led them along the pathways of knowledge here at Liars Hill. The administration is keenly interested in the future as its primary duty is to prepare the stu- dents for life following college years. The kind of men and women who will be leaders in the na- tion in the next few years depends a great deal upon the university or college from which they graduate. Consequently, the administration is mindful that the students who appear in their classrooms today will be the citizens of tomorrow. This year the task of the administration has been a difficult one. Wfith men of all ages returning to the campus, it has been hard to combine their ideas and desires into an organized unit. Every facility has been used to the best advantage and everyone put forth their best efforts to the task at hand. It has been a year of readjustment to meet the demands of the youth of America. hlistakes have been made, but each member of the administration emerged wiser and more confident of what the ideals of Mars Hill College offers to the students . . . an education amid Christian sur- roundings. 15 . l 1 ii 1944 if '.:-fy Q fri .ll 527 4 1. au. 1-'A iq-il ki vi! ..
