olunteers Aid Struggling Students Office Aides - Chris Crawford, Sherry Grannon, Linda Thompson. Office Aides H The Office Aides under the sponsor- ship of Mrs. Mary Jane Heckman provided office help for Mrs. Althea Nevsimal, Mr. Arno Thompson, the library, and some teachers. This is the last year in which the organization, as such, will exist. Next year, the program will be handled by the Business Club as a service project. A. V Aides - Movie Projectors . . . tape recorders. . . overhead projectors . . . record players . . . Mrs. Betty Furka and her staff of A.V. Aides were responsible for these and many more pieces of audio-visual equip- ment. Not only did they have to locate missing equipment and distribute the requested equipment, but also they had to keep all the equipment in good working order. The A.V. WHITE WATER - Ever gone repelling? The White Water Club has done this Cjumping off rocks with a rope about the bodyj at McConnell's Mills. They also camped and canoed at Camp Kon-O-Kwee at the Clarion River. Each member was required to be a member of the YMCA. The officers were: President, Rich Bogang Vice-President, Todd Pinkerton, Secre- tary-Treasurer, Rosie Smith. Mrs. Mary Ann Larson was advisor. CONSERVATION CLUB - A new club came into existence this year under the direction of Mrs. Marilyn Harbison and Mr. Robert Mueller. With a membership of about twenty, the Conservation Club's main purpose was to explore the possible careers in conservation as well as to seek solutions to some of the environmental problems of the com- munity. Work Experience Gives Students Taste 0f Life Business Club - Mrs. Tritch, Kris White, Jodi Norton, Michelle Boyle, Mary Muska. Business Club - Need some stationery this year? What about a candle? lf so, the best place to find these items was near your friendly business club member. These indus- trious young people, along with raising money for projects and trips, did clerical work on a voluntary basis for some teachers. They also typed course names and teachers, names on to report cards. The club was advised by Mrs. Roberta Tritch and headed by Mary Ann Muska, Presi- dent, Michelle Boyle, Vice-President, Jody Norton, Secretary, and Chris White, Trea- surer. For recreation, they sponsored a skating party and all-night bowling. DECA - What is DECA? The Mars Chapter of the Distri- butive Education Clubs of America is an organization that teaches marketing, management, and merchandizing, devel- ops future business leaders, and in the words of sponsor, Mr. David Skurcenski, promotes understanding and appreciation for the responsibilities of our free enterprise system. The forty members sponsored a wide range of activities throughout the school year. A paper-recycling project was part of their community service. They also sponsored a bowling party, a hayride, a fashion show assembly, a Christ- mas party, the Career Education Day besides selling candles and sending cards to local servicemen. Mr. S. and five mem- bers attended the North Atlantic Regional Conference, for DECA, October 21-23 at Atlantic City. DECA - Kneeling: Jean Vogel, Judy Kaecher, Phyllis Whalen, Cheryl Revoir.
