The Semor Class We are the class of 42 who for the past four years have together experienced many of the joys and sorrows of high school life Let s be ginnmg with September nineteen hundred and thirty eight return and review some of the high spots of these four years We entered Mars High as a Freshman class with approximately one hundred and fifty stu dents After four rather confusing weeks be coming acquainted with teachers classmates and classes we were initiated Initiation seems to be the first time Freshmen are acknowledged rather embarrassing Later vue elected the cla s officers Gale Garraux president Carolyn Gabosch vice president Irene Hill secretary and Tim Howard treasurer We didn t spon sor many activities that year other than some skating parties When spring descended upon us we suddenly realized that our first year of high school was practically over and that we really had passed first year Latin and that our special dishes we made in I-lome Economics lasses and had forced down were slowly im proving The boys made big plans to be foot ball and basketball heroes in the coming years Stan Piotrowski had already made unusual headway in football Sophomores no more were we called green Freshies' We took a much greater interest in serious in their 1ttitude toward football and basketball as they quickly learned the necessary in s and out s Four girls of our class assisted in the cheerleading with many Sophomores to back up the cheers We discovered that our . , V . . 7 ., . . , ' . c - . . 7 A . . 7 A 7 Y ' a ' 'Q by upperclassmen and then the procedure is school activities.
