it A Study In Professionalism The staff at this unit is comprised of an outstanding group of officers. Each one excels in his particular field in the military and sets a fine example for Marquette's aspiring young naval officers to follow. Cmdr. Pierce is the Executive Officer of the unit. He is also responsible for teaching VC Midshipmen leadership and management skills. Cmdr. Pierce is involved in unit extra curricular activities. He coached this year's successful unit basketball team. The MOI, Major Wilson teaches Marine courses and keeps the Midshipmen battalion in line. Thanks to him, the battalion is now organized as a Marine battalion would be and everything runs much more smoothly. Lt. Lund is the 2K3 instructor. When not in class confusing hapless 2K3 Midshipmen, he enjoys such activities as basketball and water polo. This is Lt. Lund's last year at Marquette. Lt. Whitehead is also leaving the unit this year. He will be greatly missed by all who had him as an instructor for Naval Weapons Systems and Naval History. Lt. Whitehead is the faculty advisor for the Porthole, Navy Ball and he is also deeply involved with the sailing program. Lt. Hanneman has just completed his first year here at Marquette. He is infamous for being the only NASC instructor to assign homework on a regular basis. He is also heading up Marquette NROTCls recruiting effort and can often be seen lurking in the units passageways trying to lure some unlucky midshipmen into the dreaded mail-out trap. aop to bottom, left to rightl: Cmdr. Pierce, Maj. Wilson, Lt. Lund, Lt. Whitehead, Lt. Hanneman.
