Some Mids greet the PRT tphysical readiness testl as a chance to display their strength and speed. Others see the PRT as the final stumbling block to successfully completing another NROTC semester. Sit ups, push ups, the one and a half mile run, and the dreaded toe touch must all be executed above the minimum standard to pass. Sound difficult? V a x a The final social event of the first semester was the units annual Christmas party. The party gave the Midshipmen a chance to take a break from their exam studies and to gather together, drink eggnog, and enjoy a little Christmas cheer. INSPECTIONS: A NECESSARY EVIL When you are in the military, inspections are something you just have to get used to. Al- though no one enjoys standing at attention for extended periods of time, inspections are nec- essary to ensure that high standards of military dress and bearing are being maintained. Marquetteis Mids are put through their paces by many inspections throughout the year. Many will agree that the most nerve wraoking one is the BNCO inspection. Questions asked during this inspection can range from ttWhat is your third general order? to ttWhat was written on the hot air balloon in The Wizard of Oz?' it ......... ..
