Cook and Ens. Lohman. Marquette, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and the University of Iowa all had midshipmen who participated in the program and learned basic sea- manship, sail rigging and the mastery of the high seas' Many port calls were made to promote camaraderie among the shipmates. Mackinac was the hands-down favorite. Some Midshipmen were lucky enough to race the Guerre de Course in the Chicago-Mackinac race. Although Guerre de Course was sold to a private owner in November, MUNROTC acquired the Wild Onion in the Spring. Hopefully, SAILTRAMID '88 will be as adventurous and mem- orable as SAILTRAMID i87.
