Such was the case with the Regi- WW9 w j ., f .. 5 mental Parade held May 18th, one at the last 3 -- 4 to be stage d be tore the station at Marquette was returned to the peace-time program. With the crunch at same 300 pairs at shoes on the graveled field, the sharp commands of the staff officers and the steady cadence of the drums, the regiment came onto the parade grounds, ready for the review. Before this point was reached, however, there were many hours of preliminary drill. For three weeks preceding the review, Lieu- tenants Reichert and Thompson diligently con- ducted drills to brush up the marching order. The regiment was drilled in the exact pro- cedure tor the review and such things as tac- ings and Heyes right were practiced so that the actual review would proceed without tail. The regiment was formed according to bat- talians, with massed companies and respective staffs heading each battalion.
