' PHARMACISTS Three fellows whose work is largely unsung but vitally important in the maintenance of cm. efficient Naval organization at Marquette are the members of the Hospital Corps comprising ship's company at the sick bay. Senior corpsmcm is Von C. Yoder, th MC, USN, who at 24 has five years and three months of service to his credit. Von, who hails from Goshen, Ind, came to Marquette in De- cember 1945, after almost three years Pacific duty on the USS Pyro, an ammunition ship. His ship's itinerary included the New Hebrides, Australia, New Guinea, and the Philippines. In Charge of the Records Office and c1 general supervisor, Von intends to study Bacteriology on completion of his Hhitch . Longest in point of service at Marquette is Joe S. Bevacquct, th MC, whose main job is that of dental technician. Joe, who makes his home in Ridgefield, N. 1., joined the Navy in September 1943, and was stationed at Great Lakes until he came to Marquette in October 1944. He intends to study dentistry upon dis- charge. Burton S. Floyd, th 31c, comes from Or- lando, Florida. He joined the Navy in Septem- ber 1944, and arrived at Marquette in October 1945, after c1 tour of duty at Farragut, Idaho. He is planning a medical career after being discharged. 1241 SPECIALISTS Richard HDi-ck Lindsey, Cox, USNR, from Columbus, Ohio, served with the 28th Special Battalion of the Seabees, his 31 months of service taking him to Pearl Harbor, Philippines and Japan. He came to Marquette in January 1946. Douglas Robison Sp tAi 21c, hails from Des Moines, Iowa. Doug was c1 freshman at Iowa to Marquette in May 1945. He has been eligible for CI discharge for some time, but out of the goodness of his heart, decided to stay with the boys until Iune. HRitchie Mitchell. old hands at Marquette, having been here as students and then as instructors. They were on the football and track teams according to respective sizes. Mitchell, who is not pictured above, is the boxing instructor. His long and colorful career in the ring brings to the boxing classes the skill and experience that is necessary to make young boxers.
