21553 16 Mass of the Holy Ghost if aidgi., I RTQQJL WQQQMQQ LLL'L .'h'- 535375 ' A MH 1 While the familiar ritual of the Mass remained unchanged, the Mass of the Holy Ghost took on special significance, as an offering of the Klar- quette community. Students gathered in Gesu Septemher 25 to invoke the aid of the Holy Ghost in this yearis studies. Although their petitions varied, Fr. Charles I. Mehok, SJ., suggested an additional, common purpose for their prayers in his sermon. Maintaining that the influence of the Catholic graduate on society is insufficient today, Fr. Mehok reminded students that if they are to live up to their commitment to knowledge, they must become a sacrificing and courageous community dedicated completely to God. Marquette students could hecome such a community through the Holy Ghost, he said. The Blass of the Holy Ghost, in his view, pre- sented an opportunity to pray for hoth success and courage: success in academic suhjects, courage to practice Marquette ideals after gradu- ation.
