The technological developments and so- cial changes associated with the Nineteenth Century and Industrial Revolution have only gathered mo-A mentum. Intense political national- ism, expanding cities, exploding population, nuclear power, more subtle and powerful media of mass communication, new and improved machines: these are signs of this restless age. The decision is ours: Will we use this power, this knowl- edge to build or to destroy?
