College of Engineering The Marquette College of Engineering was established in 1908. Conferring degrees in civil, mechanical and electrical engineering, it offers laboratory facilities in electric machinery, elec- tronics and high frequency equipment, automatic feedback controls, fluid power, hydraulics, ma- terials testing, metallography, physics. chemistry, soils and surveying. A co-op program offered after the sopho- more year with the help of more than 60 HIIHS throughout the midwest, gives the student an op- portunity to learn while earning a salary in his chosen held. Innovations in the Engineering school include a computing center, the Theodore F. Trecker memorial laboratory and a graduate program in electrical engineering. The dean of the College of Engineering is A. Bernard Drought. Rev. Stephen J. Rueve, SJ., is the regent and student counselor.

Copus and has been headed by Dean J. L. O'Sullivan since 1928. The college awards the degrees of Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts. The courses of study are divided into News Editorial. Radio and Television and Advertising. The College ollers practical experience in journalism by having its students stall and ad- ministrate the Hilltop, university annual. the Journal, literary quarterly. and The Tribznze, a bi-weekly newspaper. Reporting. typography. editing and copy reading provide the subject matter for three journalism laboratory courses.
