The present dental building was opened to students in 1922. A wing was added in 1957 providing facilities for childrens dentistry. gradu- ate and postgraduate research. After two years in Liberal Arts and four years in Dental School, the degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery is conferred upon a student. Master of Science, Doctor of Dental Surgery, Master of Science in oral medicine and Master of Science in oral surgery degrees are also of- fered. Dr. Oswald M. Dresen has been dean since 1925. The dental school has departments of pedo- dontics. dental prosthetics. clinical dentistry. or- thodontics, oral rehabilitation. pathology, micro- biology. pharmacology and biochemistry. The department of Dental Hygiene under the direction of Miss Elizabeth M. Linn. otlers a diploma in Dental Hygiene or the degree of Bachelor of Science in public health Dental Hygiene. Rev. College of Engineering The Marquette College of Engineering was established in 1908. Conferring degrees in civil, mechanical and electrical engineering, it offers laboratory facilities in electric machinery, elec- tronics and high frequency equipment, automatic feedback controls, fluid power, hydraulics, ma- terials testing, metallography, physics. chemistry, soils and surveying. A co-op program offered after the sopho- more year with the help of more than 60 HIIHS throughout the midwest, gives the student an op- portunity to learn while earning a salary in his chosen held. Innovations in the Engineering school include a computing center, the Theodore F. Trecker memorial laboratory and a graduate program in electrical engineering. The dean of the College of Engineering is A. Bernard Drought. Rev. Stephen J. Rueve, SJ., is the regent and student counselor.
