The presentation of bids was preceded three weeks of rushing. During this the hopeful pledges underwent a scrutiny by the actives of the five sororities. Chi Sigma Chi inducted its pledges during the candlelight cere- mony of the preference tea. For six weeks the pledges, dressed in green and white uniforms, carried goodie boxes, ran errands, collected signa- tures for their pledge books, made a positive effort to become friends with iifty-five actives and smiled through it all. Hell night was the final test of their determination to become actives. Amid enough clut- ter to unnerve any girl, Chi Sig pledges endured intense question- ing and silly stunts.
