Ha hat held many ranh in tha Wisconsin National Guard, in tha infantry, tha quartermaster's department, and in tha engineering department. Ha served in Cuba and Porto Rico in tha Army of tha United States in tha Spanith-Amarican War, and served hit ttate in active duty In connection with riots at five different timet.
