is W Qmsfv-Q vt, 5, pri ,,, ff ,M Dedication . Almost 200 years of dedicated service in the Society of Jesus is the proud achievement of these four Jesuit priests. Fr. Thomas Finnegan, S.J. Cthird from leftj, a golden ju- bilarian in 1959, is no stranger to Marquette. He spent his prep school days at the old Marquette Academy, at 10th and State. Then, in 1928, he was appointed principal ot the new Marquette High school, remaining in this post for ten years. He returned to his alma mater, after service at Jesuit schools and parishes throughout the midwest, in 1956. As counsellor, Confessor, speaker and friend, Father Finnegan is year by year contributing increasingly more to the Marquette tra- dition. Fr. John Berens, S.J. is a native of Green Bay. Father Berens, ordained May 18, 1918, holds the honored distinction of being a member of the Jesuit order longer than any other priest presently stationed at Marquette. He moved here in 1955 from St. Mary's, Kansas, where he served as pastor of Immaculate Conception church. ,fi Fr. Vincent Ward, S.J. helped Marquette students ever since he came to the Hilltop from Rockhurst College, Kansas City, Missouri, in 1945. A teacher ot Latin and religion for most of his years here, he is at present spiritual father to the Jesuit community. Fr. Richard Forrey, S.J. donned a Jesuit blackrobe for the first time on August 6, 1919. Like Father Word, he taught at Rockhurst College. He began teaching at Marquette in 1946, and since then has taught English, Latin and Religion to suc- cessive waves of Marquette students. Father Forrey's friend- liness and keen sense ot humor make him a favorite with his Junior English classes. To these four men, in humble recognition for the loyal service rendered to Marquette High school and her student body, we, the Class of 1960, dedicate our yearbook.
