PROBLEMS N llEIllCA'll0 A quarfer of a cenfury ago, a young man was gradu- afed from Marqueffe. He was desfined for greaf fhings. Before him lay a pafh of hard work, disappoinfmenfs. He faced fhese courageously, defermined fo conquer fhem, and make his presence felf in fhe world, for fhe greafer glory of God. Three years ago, he refurned fo Marqueffe, nof now fo sif af fhe scholar's bench, buf rafher fo govern Marqueffe Universify as ifs presidenf. To fhe Reverend Edward J. O'Donnell, we dedicafe our l95I FLAMBEAU YEARBOOK. We could have asked for no beffer example no beffer inspirafion or ideal fhan he has given us. lf our days af Marqueffe have been profif- able and successful, some of fhaf profif and success has come because he has shown us fhe way. ln grafeful acknowledgmenf we dedicafe fo him fhis epifome of our efforfs af Marqueffe. Togefher wifh Fr. O'Donnell, as a vifal proof of Mar- queH'e's greafness, sfand many ofher men who have leff Marqueffe and risen fo success. To fhem also, fhe number- less graduafes of our school, we dedicafe fhis book. Their lives of virfue and Chrisfian achievemenf are an everlasf- ing glory fo Marqueffe, and fo God. Wifh fhem, we ask God, may we fake our own righfful place in fhe march of fhe world's Chrisfian armies. To Fr. O'Donnell, we say a belafed Welcomeg fo fhose counfless ofher graduafes, we say, Well done.
