“DON'T STOP BELIEVING”’ ns oe 0) a The 1983 Homecoming started off en ' “aa Monday with 50’s Day. From greased hair and cigarettes to poodle skirts and saddle shoes. Shauna Manka and Ken Russell were the couple that was cool. On Tuesday, everyone dressed up in their finest clothes and their neatest hat. Melanie Holtan, Kevin Hutsell, Shauna Manka, and Derek Nissen were the winners for this day. Wednesday took the school to the 4077 M A S H. Our winners were Tracy Ortegren, Mrs. Gay, and Todd Danhauer. Everyone went nerd on Thursday with Shauna Manka and Blake Sanderson being the best nerds, Thursday night, the Marquette Cubs fired up with the annual bonfire. Pep talks, cheers, and chants built up the excitement for Friday night. School spirit started on Friday with Blue and Gold Day. The winners were Lisa Ortegren and Ken Russell. The after- noon Homecoming ceremony was opened by MC Blake Sanderson. The 4983 King and Queen were Todd Danhauer and Glenda Nutzman. Attendants were Kevin Hutsell and Rhonda Joyner. A parade topped off the afternoon. The winners of the float competition were: 4st place - 7th and 8th grade, 2nd place - sophomores, and 3rd place - seniors. The festivities ended with the Cubs winning 54 to 14! Top: Royalty in the parade. Middle: 50’s Day! Bottom: Spit curls are back. Right: Nerds (as usual)!
