Cheerleaders 1979 - 80 This year the cheer- leaders experimented with something new, A Blue and Gold Club. Students and their parents could belong for a dollar and ride the bus to games. Profits from conces- sions will be used to pay for summer clinics. They also sponsored a Parents Night during football and a Mom’s Night at a basketball game. An Appreciation Breakfast was given by the cheerleaders and student council for the boys and girls basketball team and coaches. Varsity: Top; Rhonda Nutzman. Student Council Begins Active Participation Student Council under the sponsorship of Superinten- Time for a break: Karri Chollar reaching for money and Sandy dent Hatch, sponsored many events including a free [@tch and Lynn Menke are getting their pop. Christmas breakfast to all students and faculty, a Valentine’s Dance, a basketball appreciation breakfast for all players and coaches, and also provided the noon luncheons for the honor roll parties. Council members also attended a workshop which was held in David City. All these activities were financed with money from the Pop Shoppe machine that was added. Although the scores did not look good, the team gained experience and confidence to carry forward to next year. Jim VanBibber was named All-conference defen- sive guard.
