FHA girls take time to entertain 4g » fe residents of Central City’s Long Term. Encounter Cindy Larson, Historian Susan Kauffman, Pres. Jackie Hutsell, Sec. Brenda Dietrich, V. Pres. Julie Kauffman, Recreation Michelle Ellenwood, Treas. Rhonda Nutzman, Publicity Julie Danhauer. FHA Chapter Has An Active Year FHA had a very active year with many projects. The girls held a football appreciation dance and served pizzaburgers after a football game. If the girls spoke to the boys on Valentines Day they lost their paper hearts and the boy to accumulate the most hearts won the title of Mr. Irresistible. They also had an Awareness Day in which they spent the day being mute, blind or crippled. In March they sponsored a marathon dance to raise money for the March of Dimes. In the summer they had a good FHA Retreat with the help of their sponsor Mrs. Dahlke. Their main money raising project was the annual spring FHA Salad Supper. The Bumps And Bruises Even though the Cubs lost the first Tom Sailors adds the point after attempt five games, they refused to give up the fight. The win over Monroe gave the team the added drive and the fire to pull off the big upset of the football season - the defeat of Hampton. At the close of the first half, Hampton fumbled and the Cubs capitalized with the TD - score at New scoreboard adds life to the game. —ihalf time was 16 all. Hampton added 6 points but the Cubs not to be out done scored a touchdown AND the point after attempt. The ball remained in the Cubs possession during the final minutes of SCORES the game. The final score was 24-22. All conference honors went to two FOOTBALL Opp Marquette players, Mark Jacobsen McCool named first team offensive end and Benedict second team defensive end and Tom Hordville Sailors named second team offensive Shelby and defensive half back. Mark also — City received honorable mention All-State onroe End Hampton Bradshaw Seven seniors are graduating and Polk will leave some big vacancies to be filled next year.
