Student Council Achieves Goals The Student Council consists of two representatives from each grade 7 through 12. During the fall months Student Council members sold activity ca lendars as a fund-raising project. A school skating party on December 23rd was } sponsored by the Student Council. Grades 3, 4, 5 and 6 were included for the first time this year. A Muscular Dystrophy drive was conducted in March Officers - top: Roxane Andersen, President; Kevin Griffith, with Student Council members canvasing the Marquette Vice-President; Susan Kauffman, Secretary; Lori Zikmund, Treasurer community. Among the M-Club sponsored activities was a fun night for which a one dollar admission was charged. The fun night included games, free throw shooting, horse, and other competitive events in which all could participate. Membership for this year included both boys and girls. The M-Club discussed and made plans to adopt a consti- tution for the giving of letters and the requirements for membership in the club.

. i Randy Hutsell Julie Kauffman and Laura Menke concentrate Not a ghost writer but a headless writer on the MHS annual staff. Rhonda 77-78 Editor on the task of designing layouts. Nutzman ignores it all and continues working. Annual Staff Works Throughout 77-78 In September the nine-member annual staff began the task of planning the annual and selling ads to help pay for it. Many long hours were spent selling ads in Aurora, Central City and Grand Island as well as Marquette. Next they designed layouts and took pictures. By March 17 half of the annual was completed. The sponsor, editor and co-editor took the completed pages to Marceline, Missouri and while there toured the publishing plant. At awards convocation each member of the staff received an “M” award and an annual pin in recognition of their efforts. A new idea was tried this year. Upon arrival of the annuals an autographing party was held at the school. The annuals were distributed and ie refreshments were served. Laura Menke struggles with copy while Jackie Hutsell helps??
