Seniors Announce Goals At Jr-Sr Banquet The theme “Stairway to Heaven” set the mood for the Banquet which was held at Bonanza Sirloin Pit in Grand Island. M.C. Greg Ellenwood announced the program which con- sisted of a speech by Mr. Jacobsen, the reading of the will by Amy Kisler, and Mary Vanosdall with the reading of the class prophecy. Gordon and Mark Harris provided music for the evening’s entertainment. Mr. Zichek closed the program with the benediction. 1976 Homecoming Memories Homecoming memories were made on October 15, 1976 when a new Queen and King were crowned in an afternoon program. The theme for the coronation ceremonies was “Remember” with red and cream colors. To boost school spirit, grades 7-12 decorated the walls of the gym. Sophomores took first place while the Juniors took se- cond place. M.C. Greg Ellenwood introduced the many skits which showed enthusiasm and imagination. Mr. Jacobsen also presented a pep talk. The afternoon’s highlight came when the 1976 Homecom- ing royalty were crowned. This year’s Queen and King were Amy Kisler and Larry Hutsell. First attendants were Peggy Hoegh and Gordon Harris. Second attendants were Mary Vanosdall and Frank Montelongo. The royalty and attendants were escorted by corvettes at halftime of the football game. A dance was held in the gym following the game. -

The Magic Of Athletic Banquet The theme for the 1977 Athletic Banquet was Mediterra- nean Magic with the gym decorated in light green and dark green. The big event took place on March 26, 1977. Master of Ceremonies Curt Carlson, an alumnus of MHS, kept the evening running smoothly. Gordon Harris gave the welcome and Dr. Zichek gave the invocation followed by the meal. Vince Ferragamo, All-American quarterback for the Nebraska Cornhuskers was our guest speaker for the evening. Announcements of the 1977-78 cheerleaders was given by Mr. Jacobsen. Coaches then recognized letterwinners in volleyball, foot- ball, basketball and track. A dance followed in the gym featuring disco jockey, Redd Tag. Rick takes a break. Mary cleans up. Rick's happy to l eave class to decorate.
