Consani wenf over from fhe four yard sfripe and Redman passed fo Consani for fhe exfra poinf and fhe ball game. Sepfember I0 found fhe Red- men freking fo Munising. Uncorking fine T-formafion plays and aided by big half- back, Sfeve Pefros, fhe Redmen defeafed Munising in warm weafher I2-7. New- berry lndians invaded fhe Marqueffe sfamping grounds for fhe homecoming game. Pre-game ceremonies were high- lighfed by fhe homecoming parade, and fhe new elecfric scoreboard. The grid baffle ended in a I3-I3 deadlock. Fine defensive play by fullback Carl Nysfrom was a consfanf fhorn in Newberry offense. Marqueffe High fraveled fo lshpeming fo meef fheir biffer rivals. Joe Consani filled in well as fullback for injured Carl Nysfrom. On Sepfember 30 which infroduced Dad's day, fhe Marqueffe Redmen losf fo fhe sfrong Gladsfone Braves I3-7. Desperafe fourfh quarfer passing by quarferback, Roberf Redman, almosf closed fhe gap in fhe final minufes of fhe game as he complefed 7 ouf of 8 passes. Traveling fo fhe norfhern fip of fhe U. P. on Ocfober 7, fhe Redmen, hif by a bad firsf half and fhe loss of guard Tom Pefers in fhe open- ing seconds of fhe game, mef defeaf af fhe hands of fhe Saulf Sfe. Marie Blue Devils by fhe score of l3-7. Redman kepf Marqueffe from being shuf ouf by refurning a punf 85 yards for a fouch- down. Ocfober I4, fhe Marqueffe men hung Negaunee's scalp fo fheir war-belf, by fhe score of I9-I3. The Redmen gained fheir vicfory by sfaving off a second half rally by fhe Miners.
