Orienlalion Day for Fresh- men was sponsored by lhe Council, and lhis year, lhe Sludenl Council Conven- lion was held here wilh represenlalives from all high schools of Marquelle Coun- +y allending classes for a day.. . a safely program was carried ou+ by lhe council which emphasized carefulness in 'l'he school building . . . a conslilulion was planned and adopled. The hosl' and hos- less syslem was again in effecl. Slu- denl Governmenl Day was sponsored by lhe council . . . s'l'uden'ls held 'leaching and adminislralive posilions. The T. B. and Easier Seal Sale campaigns were backed by council members. Brolherhood Week was slressed in all homerooms. The U. P. cilizenship conference in Escanaba was allended by four council members and Mr. W. E. Hoffman, council adviser. Good sporslmanship al' all limes was emphasized . . . pep meeling supervision was a coun- cil chore . . . remember +he Sock Hop. . . +he council sponsored 'rhaf loo. A +ape recording was made al one of lhe meel- ings . . . 'lhis was presenled on lhe air. The well known problem of gum chewing was campaigned againsl by fhe council. Larry Ewing was lhe council presidenl. Brodie Weslen was vice-presidenl, and Jean Zweifel served as secrelary. Sl illng.
