master technique of research. SENIORS, MAKING USE of lhe library, apparently Head over Heel! in rerearrb, are Kay Smith. Stephanie Bourlreau, jerry Wfeldon, Mary jordan and Alina Stone. Whats .ro funny, jerry? '-was , Q. Fuel filling the last rocket tube of this stage shorthand. Under Sister Nl. Virginia, OSB., students assemble lines, hooks, broken circles, in perfect order. As this stage is slipped into its encasement, word comes from the adjoining labs that the other stages are nearing completion. The second stage, which will eject the first and fire the missile METEOR to the altitude necessary for its, journey, contains five rocket tubes. Four of these rocket tubes are in place and crews are prepar- ing to put the fifth one in shortly. Under the direction of Sister M. Dolores, O.S.B., the students spent many long hours decoding the complex instructions that were given in regard to the Spanish ll rocket tube. However, persevcrence conquered and this tube was placed in its respective position. With the aid of Mrs. julian Evans, the geography rocket tube was placed according to maps, diagrams, and pictures studied. Information stored therein will prove valuable to the senior Space Ranger in charting his course. each tube The problem of computing how costs was solved by those building the bookkeeping tube. After a careful check was made by Sister M. Virginia, all errors were discovered and corrected. Co aheadn was given to the workmen to align this tube with the others. To keep the METEOR from veering to one ex- treme or the other, the sociology rocket tube was placed in this second stage. In addition to its fuel it contains devices which can interpret the surround- ings and adjust to the surrounding atmosphere. The final perplexing problem in completing the second stage required the thinking and judgments of several supervisors, chief of which was Mr. Byron Mitchell, After many hours of studying various rec- ords and results, the study hall tube was placed in its position and the entire second stage was lowered into its final covering.
