I MARQUETTE HIGH SCHOOL THE 1979 EXPLORER Special moments like these uie piesem in every day. Each with the happiness of the last. Each fullfilling. Moments, hours, days, time is always. :t uglner rises above the sorrow, e remember good times better, r now though, tirr and memories become our friend. We wave goodby to time, to our friends. Our moments together are comforting. As they leave us, we think back on time, on ourselves. By Barb Lenz ■ • ■■ • 1 A _ . (EVEN IN THE QUIETEST MOMENTS 6 PRINCIPAL Rev. We have had exchange students from South America, Europe, and Central Ameri- ca, but Meg has come the greatest distance— “The Continent Down Under.” Her Home while she is at Marquette is with the family of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Kelley. Meg is ac- tive in school activities and is well liked by all. The 1978 football season was a good one for the Explorers. They ended the regular season play with a 9-0 record, which qualified them for a berth in the state playoffs. At Murphys- boro, the Explorers put up a good fight, but lost, 28-3, giving them a 9-1 record. We would like to congratulate the 1978 Explorers for their terrific season of football play, and wish the 1979 Explorers the best of luck for next season. I - (6111-466-7700 91 VOICE OF SILENCE Here as 1 gaze into the sky the clouds across it race At times the trees will hide the sun at times it warms my face. On grass so green and soft I lie Inland listen to the lake. The silence wakes me to a thought I ' d had no time to make. ■ It seems to me that nature speaks to me with silent screams. | It wants to speak within all men with me to be its means. The earth provicles the most it can but that seems not enough The men have wasted all it gave and now they have to “rough”. If men were not so careless in their use of what they had And if they had conserved some more. things might not be so bad. All nature sighs with some relief, its message has been heard And now it hopes the message spreads through use of mouth and word. The silence is achieved again, my mind has time to rest. The voice of silence woke it once ut it was for the best. J. Tracy
