Yesterday is gone. Its joys, its sorrows, billow into a cloud of fond memories. Its worries and elations mark stepping stones from infancy to adulthood. Yesterday ' s dreams begin early. They start with your first friend, continuing through to your last. They nourish themselves on happy moments, and sad times you try to forget. But never can. They learn to walk on school’s first day, Stumbling and falling over books, Homework, and teachers. Yesterday ' s dreams hold your first love. Your (first date, your first formal, and prom. Orientation, football, basketball, Homecoming, Mardi Gras, Prom, Melt into that warm glow inside. Yesterday is gone, and thoughtfully we remember, and we laugh, and maybe even cry- a little. The End of Yesterday . . The time when a teacher sends a part of himself out into the world. With every senior carrying with him something of that part. But it is also the time when he must realize that he has shaped each student the best he could. And what each one makes of himself is up to the individual. It begins with a lesson well-learned. Whether at school or at home. It ends with a mind unwilling To accept anything new. Tomorrow starts as strong minds Enjoy the wonder of knowledge, While older minds try to teach them With patience. Yesterday gives of its experience; Tomorrow gratefully accepts. Yesterday ends with a frown; Tomorrow begins with a smile. Yesterday ' s examples tell Tomorrow to step and learn. Learn understanding, tolerance, and love for your fellow man. Yesterday says slow down and Strive for a happier future. For there is no end to Yesterday; Only a reaching for Tomorrow. Lou Ellen Maloney ' 71 Activity pictures and protraits by Gravemann 30 32
