doPi Rn . Ilf marple newtown presents MARPLE NEWTOWN SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL Newtown Square, Pa. Co-editors: Barbara Heggestad Nancy Cantor Sponsor: Miss Dorothy Liggett 2 Faces mirrowing excitement and tensions, voices hearing the sounds of joy and frustration, footsteps echoing worried thoughts and the hurried patter of anticipation. These sensations are the little things that make every person different. And it’s all these • different people with all their varied moods who make Marple Newtown Senior High School a place of adventure and opportunity; a place for experience and time to grow from these happenings. As our knowledge and understanding expand in classrooms, our interests take on new dimensions and for every new activity in which we delve— conquer or fail— a new mood blossoms. Although the facts may fade, in our minds are imprinted the feelings and emotions which we experienced for the first time — and perhaps for the last. One need only look around to see and feel the many moods surrounding him— in his friends, his teachers, and himself. Moods which change from class to class, day to day, season to season, during school and after. Our school embodies not only moods of study, but moods of fun, of activity, and of accomplishment. 4 5 cover design ted miller margie lewis 6 layout: ellen graboyes margie lewis literary: carol ellis captions: kathy groening sports: marilyn kozitsky else pancoast seniors: barbra rosenthal business: joe goldblum typing: carol cerulli 7 8 10 15 ( f 16 17 18 19 21 activities 24 sports 62 people 100 underclassmen 172 dramatics 184 directory ads 194 22 23 activities i Pace Setters Student Council Mrs. Egner President: Ann Balls Business Vice-Pres: Ginny Hoekstra 2nd Vice-Pres: Steve Marcucci Recording Secretary: Lucille Hoplomazian Corresponding Secretary: Carol Cerulli Treasurer: Dan Cardoni Sgt. at Arms: Fran Dougherty Jay Paxton Parliamentarian: Jim Bates 26 SECTIO 2 New achievements and new goals . . . more responsible representatives . . . larger say in school affairs . . . Graduation This is the time of the year when thousands of young boys and girls have completed their days of learning. Then too. in addition to High School and College students, there are those obtaining diplomas as Physicians. Dentists, Engineers, etc. Our nation is blest with these institutions of learning, and its graduates put to use all the rest of their lives the KNOWLEDGE gained, after years of hard and persistent study. Then thou shalt understand the fear of the Lord, and find knowledge of God. For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of His mouth cometh knowl- edge and understanding. Proverbs 2:5-7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. Proverbs 9:10 Ever learning and never able to come to the KNOWLEDGE of the truth. 2nd Timothy 3:7 218 Congratulations to the Class of 1967 from the Class of 1 967 219 This Year’s Student Council Thought for Itself Fought for Its Ideas And Found Results For the Student Respect Spirit Initiative Co-operation 220 Publishers of THE COUNTY LEADER 67 So.
