rOR[WORD The development of a generation is influenced by Speed, Force, Progress, and Time. These elements guide the promise, the growth and the fulfillment of life. The pace at which life moves depends upon Speed. In our generation the pace is rapid, for there are so many things to be done and so many opportuni- ties to be grasped. Force is the driving ambition that helps us reach our goals. Force pushes us through the obstacles in the path of Progress. The accomplishments of an age are signified by Progress. This year has brought a higher standard of living to our community, our commonwealth, and our country. Time is the elemental factor, without which Progress would be impossi- ble - Force, ineffectual - Speed, unnecessary. Time - the touch of the eternal - minute in quantity, all too precious in quality. f
