Each year the student body of Marple- Newtown High School elects student council officers, and each home room chooses a person to represent it at the council meetings. These people comprise the student voice in the govern- ment of our school. It is the job of the council to set up a student code of behavior. It is also the responsibility of the council to present student activities awards. This year the student council can boast several new accomplishments. We have them to thank for the very convenient student council store which sells everything from pins to tigers. The Officers: From Left to Right: B. Iwan, Secretary; R. Hi-Q guilds Jmprcssive Score Marple -Newtown ' s entrant in this year ' s fast (and some- times furious) Scott ' s Hi-Q quiz contests is the first M-N team in the contest ' s twelve -year history to be in a position to finish among the upper three schools and thus enter the finals in an attempt to win the first prize of $1000 for our school. At the time of publication the team ranked 4th with 55 points, just 1 point out of third place and 6 points behind the leaders. 24
