IN MEMORIAM All Marple and Newtown mourned the passing of Miss Helen Yeingst last April. Her loss was felt most deeply by those who had known and loved her — fellow teachers and her many students. The impression she left upon their lives is indelible. Miss Yeingst came to Marple-Newtown in 1935, having graduated from Sus- quehanna, Dickinson, and Temple Universities. During her twenty-three years here she served as head of the English Department, guiding light to two decades of Seniors, advisor to the ever-growing Yearbook, and in many other vital capacities. Largely through her untiring efforts Marple-Newtown developed afirst-class college preparatory course. It was she who brought here the Tri-Hi- Y, Scott’s Hi-Q, and the annual Magazine Drive. To the memory of this great lady. Miss Helen E. Yeingst, we of the Senior Class humbly dedicate our Memories of 1959. 4 - 1 { ' Marple - Newtown Sefflot H. S. Ofibiv Newtown Square, Pa. From Marple -Newtown’s humble beginning in this octagonal schoolhouse came the inspiration for bigger and better schools, until in the year 1932 our school became large enough to publish a yearbook. Since then, MEMORIES has grown with each succeeding year. Only during the war years was there any interruption in its publication. We, the staff, are proud to present this, the 25th edition.
